Mekulu Kazerooni & Associates LLC is a minority-owned social impact investment fund. The firm was founded in 2018 by Kevin Mekulu and Dana Kazerooni who serve as CEO and COO respectively. Our partners and affiliates possess years of experience in investing in public as well as private businesses.
MK& A utilizes a combination of traditional value investing and quantitative data analysis in order to make intelligent and optimal investment decisions. We believe that quantitative analysis is the foundation of all sound investment strategies.

MEET THE TEAM
Kevin Mekulu, a native of Cameroon, is currently a PhD student and research assistant in the industrial and manufacturing engineering department at Penn State University.
He graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in applied mathematics with honors, an MS in applied mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.
He participated in a futures trading competition against professionals organized by the CME where he finished in the top 20% in June 2020. Kevin also worked as a fixed income analyst for a financial advisory firm serving nonprofit organizations, where he was involved in a $70 million debt financing project.
Personal: Kevin is a former NCAA D1 athlete, an amateur bodybuilder and mixed martial artist.

Dana Kazerooni is currently a PhD student and research assistant in the chemistry department at Virginia Tech.
Dana is a seasoned scientist who obtained his BS from Virginia Tech with honors in material science engineering with minors in physics and economics. Dana started his research career at Duke University as an REU fellow where he worked as a research assistant in the biology and economy lab. He also worked as a researcher for the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington DC.
Dana has co-published four peer-reviewed papers. His most recent paper analyzes the synthesis of post-sulfonated membranes for potential applications in water desalination. Dana is currently spearheading our upcoming reverse osmosis plant project in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dana also spearheaded one of our most recent social impact investments in Oke Gutters and Pressure LLC, a fast-growing cleaning business located in Blacksburg, VA which is projected to close the year with total revenue of approximately $100,000.
Dana co-founded the nonprofit Salvaging Institute in 2018.
Personal: Dana is a fitness enthusiast and a serial entrepreneur fluent in French and Farsi.
